Columbia Records/Nickelodeon is pleased to announce that music group Big Time Rush will release their second album, Elevate, on Nov. 21, 2011, with an iTunes pre-sale beginning November 1. Elevate is the highly anticipated follow-up to the group’s debut, 2010’s gold-certified BTR, which has scanned over 700,000 albums worldwide. To date, Big Time Rush — Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena and Logan Henderson — have sold over 2.7 million combined digital tracks worldwide. The album’s first single “Music Sounds Better With You” is available November 1. Elevate takes Big Time Rush’s distinctive sound to new heights. The songs on the album were produced by top music hit makers including Ryan Tedder, Tricky & The Dream, JR Rotem, and Toby Gad, among others. Elevate features tracks including “Music Sounds Better With U (featuring Mann),” “Show Me,” and “All Over Again,” plus brand-new music that will debut on upcoming episodes of Big Time Rush.
Now in its second season, Big Time Rush – which follows four best friends from Minnesota who trade in their hockey sticks for music superstardom in Los Angeles — averages 4.1 million total viewers (+9%, over season one). The launch of the hit series on Nickelodeon drew 6.8 million viewers, making it the most watched live-action series premiere in the network’s history.
The group’s social media profile has risen just as quickly, with an online community of almost 400,000 Twitter followers and more than 2.3 million Facebook users who really, really “like” them. BTR, released October 2010, entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #3 and rocketed to #1 on the Top Soundtracks and Top Kids charts.
Big Time Rush performed to over 250,000 fans on a sold-out cross-country 30-city US tour this past summer, in addition to wrapping production on season two of their television show and recording Elevate |
